Corporate Social Responsibility (MIA) (MA) Lehrveranstaltung im Herbstsemester 2015 auf Masterstufe. Veranstaltungsinformation Dozierende: Dr. Colina Frisch und Thomas Hajduk Sprache: Englisch Stufe: Master Umfang: 2 SWS Credits: 4 ECTS Turnus: jeweils im Herbstsemester Inhalt In the 21st century, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is no fad or marketing ploy, but an ever more important element of modern management. Today’s society demands that companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and that as societal actors they are committed to the community. Business is faced with the challenge of proactively addressing these new societal expectations (rather than simply reacting to them) by implementing adequate practices. In this course, we will introduce and discuss various perspectives on CSR. Among other topics, we will deal with the role of business in society, enterprises as (global) corporate citizens, problems and approaches regarding the organisational implementation of CSR within companies, the institutional framework of CSR (both on the national and international level), and aspects of responsible leadership. The curriculum includes introductory lectures, little exercises, case studies, ‘games’ and the students’ presentations.
